Creating New Task


To create a new task, click the New Task button. The New Task panel will appear: 



The panel will contain the following fields:

  1. Project or Area selector. This field is required and will have only projects/areas to which the current user belongs. 
  2. Task name field is also required.
  3. Notes is a multi-rows text area.
  4. Tags field allows you to enter existing or new tags.
  5. Assignee—task can be assigned only to members of currently selected project or area (see Sharing Projects and Areas section). Special “me” value is supported.
  6. Estimate field supports the following format: 1h 23m.
  7. Due date can be selected form calendar or entered manually in “d M, yyyy” format, for example, 19 November, 2012.
  8. Task list allows you to choose among Project/Area task lists (except Completed list). It is also a required field.

In case Scheduled task list is selected, one more required field appear—Schedule date. It can be selected from calendar or entered manually in “d M, yyyy” format, for example, 19 November, 2012.

Just after you click New Task, some fields on the panel may be already filled with suggested data:

  • If Project or Area task list was selected before clicking New Task, then Project/Area field and Task list field will be filled.
  • If personal task list was selected, then Task list field will be filled and Assignee field will contain your name.
Any suggested values can be modified by user.

To add attachments or comments to a task please use Task Details panel.
