Editing Tasks


Edit task panel allows you to modify tasks on a special panel.
Quick editing for most fields is also available on Task Details panel. There you can also attach files, comment tasks and see task's recent activity list.
Some actions can also be performed against a number of tasks at once—see Tasks Bulk Operations.
Edit task panel is displayed for the selected task after Edit button is clicked.



The fields on the panel are:

  1. Project or Area selector contains only items, the current user belongs to. If Project/Area is modified, you may need to select task assignee again (see #5 below). In addition to editing panel, you can modify task Project or Area using bulk movement operation (see Task Bulk Operations).
  2. Task name field is required.
  3. Notes is a multi-row text area.
  4. Tags field allows you to add existing or new tags or to remove tags.
  5. Assignee—task can be assigned only to members of currently selected project or area (see Sharing Projects and Areas section). Special “me” value is supported. Note, that besides editing panel, it is possible to perform a bulk task assignment, using a special item in “More” top menu (see Tasks Bulk Operations).
  6. Estimate field supports the following format: 1h 23m.
  7. Due date can be selected form calendar or entered manually in “d M, yyyy” format, for example, 19 November, 2012.
  8. Task list allows you to choose among Project/Area task lists (except Completed list). In addition to editing panel, you can modify task list using bulk movement operation (see Tasks Bulk Operations).

In case Scheduled task list is selected, one more required field appears—Schedule date. It can be selected form calendar or entered manually in “d M, yyyy” format, for example, 19 November, 2012.
To cancel changes just click on X button in the top right corner.
To add attachments or comments to a task please use Task Details panel.
Working hours can be logged using a special button (see Logging Work page).



Comments
